Enjoy a traditional Japanese plant-dyeing experience surrounded by nature. Learn directly from a plant-dyeing artist who grows many of the dye plants in the garden right in front of the studio.
For the workshop, you can choose one item to dye—either a handkerchief, bandana, or scarf—and create your own piece by hand. You can also try a technique called "shibori" (tie-dye), which uses various materials to create unique patterns. What kind of original design will emerge? The final result is part of the excitement.
Your finished piece will be dried on the same day so you can take it home with you. While waiting for it to dry, you can relax with a cup of tea and enjoy friendly conversation—another special charm of this experience. The workshop is suitable for children as well, making it a wonderful activity for creating family memories.
